Club Overview

   Welcome to the Salt Lake Area Accordion Club, a Utah non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation existing since November, 2002 to promote accordion music and accordion player enjoyment, education, culture, communication, and sociality among all persons in our locale who are interested in the accordion.

MEETINGS: 3rd Tuesdays of the month except in July when a “summer break month” occurs. Exciting accordion performers, refreshments, and visiting. Jamming afterward.
 
TIME: 6:30 p.m.---pre-meeting live music and refreshments.
7:00 p.m.---the event begins. Featuring: Open Mic Players for the evening, club-oriented announcements, an occasional short workshop, more club players, an ending Spotlight player or players, and other similar activities.
 
WHERE: 6876 South Highland Drive (also known as 2000 East in this area), Salt Lake County , at the South Valley Unitarian Universalist Society building. Easy reach from freeway I-215. Take exit 8 which is the 2000 East exit. Go south one-half mile until you see KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) fast food on the west side of Highland Drive . The church is immediately north of KFC.
 
COST: Regularly $4 per person 16 years and older except $5 or $7 on “special concert nights” several times a year when prominent international or national artists perform. Youth & children ages 15 and under always enter free as SLAAC’s gift to help pass on the accordion to the next generation.

  1. No annual dues!  Pay when you attend. The club continues to experiment with this practice to see how it works out.
  1. Free entry for youth & children ages 15 and under as the club’s gift to help pass on the accordion to the next generation.
  1. Everyone is a member of SLAAC who provides his/her name, address or email so the club can inform you of upcoming events and activities.
  1. Free email newsletter!
  1. Free entry when you sign up and bring refreshments.
  1. Free entry when accordion performers sign up to play. It’s the accordionists we come to enjoy!
  1. Free group workshops, announced often for brushing up accordion skills.
  1. You see internationally and nationally known artists perform, sometimes coming unannounced to regular monthly meetings as they pass through town.
  1. Accordionists and enthusiasts receive through the newsletter comparison information from long-established, nationally recognized competing accordion manufacturers, distributors, and providers to help you meet all accordion needs---instruments (used and new), accessories, repairs, music, CDs, etc.
  1. You mingle warmly among accordion players, teachers, and enthusiasts like yourself!

 

  *** Persons giving an annual donation of $100 receive free entry to all events for 12 months and are acknowledged as a Club Financial Supporter.

  *** Persons giving an annual donation of $200 or more receive free entry for 12 months to all events and are acknowledged as a Club Benefactor.
